In 2005, in an effort to recognise and encourage emerging chefs and to help evolve and develop Australia’s hospitality industry, the Appetite for Excellence awards program was created.
13 years on, the program has evolved from Young Chef, to now include Young Waiter (from 2007) and Young Restaurateur (from 2009) also.
Recognising and rewarding all aspects of the hospitality industry, Appetite for Excellence is the only national hospitality program that recognises and awards talented chefs, waiters and restaurateurs who are next generation industry leaders in Australia.
Judged by a national panel of over 20, we’re fortunate to have the support of some of Australia’s most inspirational, passionate, prestigious restaurateurs, chefs and industry leaders. Our judges provide support, offer encouragement, mentorship and inspiration needed to help find the future stars of the culinary world.
